Boston Cream Pie

Ingredients

  • 2 yellow sponge cake rounds
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 4 yolks
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp vanilla
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream

Method

Whisk milk, yolks, sugar, cornstarch, and vanilla over medium heat until thick.
Cool the pastry cream with plastic on the surface for 1 hour.
Sandwich the sponge layers with pastry cream.
Heat cream and pour over chocolate chips. Stir into ganache and pour over the cake.
